Climate change quote of the day

The best thing we could get right now would be a monsoon for a week and a half to restore water levels to normal.

David Phillips, senior meteorologist at Environment Canada, commenting on the record-breaking dry weather in Toronto this year.

Yesterday, Toronto reached the highest temperature for any fall day dating back to the beginning of record keeping in 1840.

We’re dry in Peterborough this year too. I’ve been back a month and a half almost now, and the first time it actually rained since I got here was yesterday night. Ouch.

The grass is pretty wilty, and the trees are losing leaves faster than they can change colour!

Of course, the other factor that hurts the country for fluids is the lack of snow in the winter. These things are getting off to bad starts since there’s no melting snow!

uh, isn’t that what just happened in Africa ( hot drought followed by non-stop rain) causing flash floods, failiurs of the harvest and devastation of the countryside?

The solution to extreme weather is not more extreme weather imho!
