All eyes on Iowa

I’m a Canadian, so I don’t have a say in Iowa or in any other US state.

But I have closely followed this presidential election for months. It matters who Americans vote for. It matters not only for the sake of Americans, but for the sake of the whole world — not least, for those of us in the West.

If I had a vote, I would be voting for this candidate. Listen to how he responds to the question about Hillary Clinton:  how he acknowledges the “heavy lifting” she did while her husband occupied the White House.

It’s one thing not to denigrate an opponent — the candidates know that negative comments will reflect badly on them. But Obama went beyond that when he recognized one of the key qualifications that Hillary likes to claim for herself.

Obama genuinely believes in reconciling adversaries. Wouldn’t it be nice to put the gratuitous polarization of America, and the hyper-inflated polarization of the world, behind us?

With respect to the Republican candidates, Obama appears to have come out for Huckabee before anyone else had! Is this guy prescient, or what?!
