McCain parody

No doubt many of you have seen the music video in support of Barack Obama. of The Black Eyed Peas took inspirational clips from Obama’s speeches and set them to music.

Sorta. I appreciate the message, but the music doesn’t do it for me.

Maybe I’m just too old to get it:  can over 3,000,000 viewers be wrong? Check it out here and form your own conclusions.

Better yet, watch this one instead:  laugh out loud funny! Cause the Republicans are fielding a candidate too, you know.

Wow — fourth link to this video I’ve seen today. It’s got to be the most viral thing I’ve ever seen on the blogosphere. Not that I’m complaining about your link to it, just that it’s pretty amazing how quickly this thing has spread.

I probably shouldn’t be one of the bloggers promoting it. I genuinely respect with McCain’s straight-talking approach, so it’s a little unfair to poke fun at him for it.

But that video is too funny! And maybe McCain isn’t quite as straight a talker as he makes himself out to be.

Mike (husband) made me watch the Obama one first and then this one. Yikes. I love the mounting confusion on the part of the singers.

The singer sounds a lot like the guy who does the parodies on the Daily Show — or did before the strike!

It’s funny to hear that type of music in a serious context… I think it suits the mocking of McCain far better than the boosting of Obama, although, as you said, it’s a bit of a cheap shot on the man who is at the very least the best Republican to have running against Obama!

The strike is over: Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have their writers back! Yay!
